A taste of the good life.

So yesterday I was fortunate enough to shadow one of my co-workers/friends as he shot a wedding. As most of ya'll know, this is what I want to do for a living! I was very excited that he let me tag along and learn some tricks from him. Of course, his are much better quality because he has all the gadgets, but here's just a few of my favorites that I took. I loved being able to get up and go to a job that I looked forward to and left even more excited to go home and see my creations. That's a good feeling :)

Thankful Thoughts.

As November continues to float on by like the leaves falling from the trees, I'm beginning to remember a few important things. To start, I'm remembering to be thankful. As cliche as that is this time of year, I am trying to take a step back from the craziness of it all and just rest. Rest in gratefulness. I'm thankful for the people that surround my daily life, but also those who I am away from. I have been incredibly blessed with friends, family, love, and health. Sometimes it's hard to remember their value, especially with financial struggles, discouraging people, and the stresses of work, but those are not the most important things. So I'm challenging not only myself, but my readers as well...be thankful, be joyful, be love, be grateful, and be happy for what you have.

Tricks & Treats.

I love Halloween!! I enjoy dressing up, all the yummy candy (which I'll be eating constantly for the next few weeks), pumkins, and fun decorations. I do not like scary things though. Jamie and I took the boys we live with, Logan and Zachary, to a haunted yard the other night. Our neighbors block off their yard with tarps and set it for a month in advance. They create scenes from scary movies, graveyards, and just frightening things and then haunt it with bloody people, zombies and chainsaws. I'm a huge baby, but I made it through with only a few screams. It was a lot of fun and just the perfect amount of scary. The night of Halloween I had to work but we got to dress up and make it fun. Here's some pictures of our Halloween events.

Bundled up and about to venture into the haunted yard.

Frightful Facts Friday!

In honor of Halloween being just a few days away, I'm dedicating today's post to some scary, interesting facts. I hope it's not too scary! Enjoy :)

1) The average human body host over a million parasites. Ew.

2) By Halloween the world's population is predicted to reach 7 billion.

3) Sorority girls are more likely to have body issues and dysfunctional eating disorders than non-sorority girls.

4) If you try to suppress a sneeze, you can rupture a blood vessel in your head or neck and die.

5) Rats multiply so fast that in 18 months, 2 rats can have over 1 million descendents.

6) The soft plastic headphones used on airplanes create a warm, moist environment in the ear canal that is ideal for breeding bacteria. Wearing headphones for just an hour will increase the bacteria in your ear by 700 times.

7) Homely criminals get 50% longer jail sentences, on average, than good-looking criminals.

8) If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16, 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

9) More people working in advertising died on the job in 1996 than died while working in petroleum refining.

10) You are more likely to be struck by lightning than to be eaten by a shark.

October.

I've been very absent from my blog this month :( I'm so sorry. Let me just update y'all a little bit. Jamie has been gone for the past month at PetSmart Grooming Academy. It was about an hour away, so I only got to see her on weekends. As hard as this was, we made it!! She finished this weekend and is finally home. I'm very proud of her and her accomplishment. We've been very busy during the times we've been together and have done nothing but worked other than that. But here's a few pictures of our fun adventures during this past beautiful month.

First, Six Flags w/ Jamie's high school friends!

Atlanta Pride with friends and our host.
A visit with Jamie's family.
Habersham for our friend Chance's little boy, Parker's, 2nd birthday!

So, it's been such a busy, but fun month! I can't believe it's not even over yet. I'll be better about blogging now that Jamie's home from Academy and I'm not driving back and forth every week. Thanks for following our lives!

Finally Fall.

Oh, the joys of cooler weather. Let me just name a few reasons why I love it...

I love hammock time with my puppy.

I enjoy wearing shorts and a light jacket :)

The leaves are beginning to change.

                                Fall Leaves

It's the perfect weather to curl up w/ a Starbucks coffee and read a good book.

Those are just a few things. But sadly, I haven't been able to enjoy much of the weather because it seems like I'm either working or sleeping. So, my goal this week is to take advantage of the best time of year. I'm hoping for more family walks, more books, more pictures, and just more of the beautiful outdoors.
